Light Sensor on Touch Pro GSM

by no2chem 4. April 2009 15:52
Someone sent me a e-mail about how the Touch Pro GSM turns off the backlight during calls when you put your phone towards your face. They thought that it had something to do with the light sensor, but I think otherwise - as the phone would not be able to distinguish between the phone in the dark and the phone being held towards your face. I'm currently leaning more towards the GSensor, but if you have any opinions or know-how about how this feature works, I'd be interested in knowing.

nueBattery for CDMA Touch Pro / Diamond

by no2chem 4. April 2009 01:08

nueBattery for CDMA Touch Pro / Diamond is an up-to-date version of my modified battery driver for the CDMA Touch Pro / Diamond. It now includes:

-1% Battery Increments
-FastCharge, which allows you to draw up to 900mA from a USB port (or other charger that your phone thinks is just a USB port)
-DisableFlightMode, which stops your phone from entering flight mode whenever your battery is low (because your phone is useless anyway if you can’t get calls right?)

I included a simple switching app to make it easy to switch between modes, registry edits are no longer required. Please be sure to pay attention to the FastCharge warning, I’m not responsible if FastCharge somehow blows your usb port or charger. If you can’t sync after enabling FastCharge, disable it, most likely your USB port has aggressive overcurrent protection.

If there is interest in GSM land for this, I’ll take a look there too, as well as getting these features ready for the Titan.

Download nueBattery here. Note that to see the 1% increments you need to install nuePowerCPL as well, nueBattery just enables (unlocks) 1% increments on the driver side.

nuePowerDriver (Battery.dll) for CDMA Diamond

by no2chem 2. September 2008 20:56

I’ve successfully created a driver that displays 1% increments for the CDMA Diamond. Note that this is for the CDMA Diamond only. Special thanks to Ghettofreeryder for testing and Cmonex for locating the rounding function.

The device name is DIAM500. To enter bootloader, press Reset+Power+VolumeDown.

The Telus ROM and SPL is attached. The version on the ROM is v1.06. Due to missing "rtask” commands in the bootloader, we were unable to extract the radio. To dump the ROM, you probably want to use “imgfstodump part02.raw” with tadzio or mamaich’s imgfstools. Special thanks to CNeufeld and jackojack for getting this dumped. This is NOT intended for flashing. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH THIS ROM ONTO ANY DEVICE.

CDMA Diamond

After walking jackojack and CNeufeld through dumping SPL and such off the CDMA diamond, we’ve managed to extract the SPL and a dump of the ROM.

I’ll be posting the results and a download link shortly.
