nueDynamicClock 1.2

by no2chem 24. April 2009 05:30

Apparently, nueDynamicClock 1.1 had a major bug in it where it would set the CPU speed to minimum at boot causing really long and slow boot times.

I’ve fixed the problem, as well as made some more performance tweaks to it. Also, in 1.1 I set the order to 0 on accident, it should have been 0xA, which probably kept safe mode from working for some people, oops =(. I apologize for any hard resets this may have caused, I’ll try not to do any more late night releases when I’m sleepy.

Also a note- if no profile shows under active profile the first time you start the app, you might have to go to file –> Reset Active Profile.

with my X1i starts normally Smile

after a reboot active profile indication works fine, and it seems to switch speed as spected.

I created a launcher for skype, setting the max performance profile, tested in call and the result is: not working, still sounds cuts itself :/

small find, If I set manually the max performance profile still have the problem with 1.2 :?

small new suggestion, could you add a button/switch to enable/disable completelly all the nuedynamicclock functions? also a shorcut switch option so manually via a link we could disable nue, do what we want a reenable itself easlily with another shortcut.

Okay, I'll add a turn on / off completely function in the next release.

Question though... did you actually set the max performance profile correctly? Its not configured by default.

Hi, yes, I checked it but It was already at 528 and no options checked (all 528 tough).

I'm seeing with this build I get more than usual "white screens" than with 1.0 (power on and the screen is white but you can see some dots, turnoff-turnon and at last it shows ok; with 1.2 I had to do this various times while on 1.0 work the first try)

could it be because I set the standby speed to 19MHz? I've set it now to 81MHz, I'll see what happens! Laughing

Does this actually save a lot of battery on the Diamond/Pro? I like the horsepower the Diamond has over say the Titan and if this is noticeable in battery life I may try it.

Kinda off topic but can the voltage and freq be added to nuePowerCPL?

It seems that the service failed to load on your device. Did you forget to restart?.

Version 1.2 doesn't work on my device (htc touch hd). I tried setting the speed manually or even through profiles but the speed won't change. I reinstalled back version 1.0 and is working like a charm. Maybe a bug in version 1.2?

Perhaps, I will take a break from looking at it at return to it later, maybe that will clear things up for me...

Just removed the battery on my Vogue and rebooted the device.
Still getting the 0.00mhz and squares as profile.
How can I check to see if the service is running? What service name should I look for?
Thanks

I was running 1.1 just fine on my TP, but with 1.2 installed, the whole phone started acting strange and slow. I uninstalled the 1.1 version completely, installed 1.2, reset, setup the profiles and reset active profile, then let the phone charge. After about a minute or so, the charging light stopped and the phone became so slow it was almost non responsive. I reset the phone and this happened each time after the same time frame passed. I disabled the ndc0 service and reset and the problem stopped. Debating going back to 1.1. (BTW - Thank you for all the awesome work you've put into this, I LOVE it, and you so deserve more than we give you.)

well so people aren't totally deterred
i got it working
didn't realize i was supposed to use the .cpl file and not the .exe
which was hidden by default in resco explorer
so she's up and working on the sprint htc mogul/titan 6800

i'd like any pointers for a full removal though if it became necessary
file list would be appreciated or relevant registry entries

Firstly, I will say thanks to you for your good app.
But unfortunately, neither the v1.1 and v1.2 can work on my Diamond. I tried to set the frequency manually or by profile, and wait, but the frequency can't change. But the way, v1.0 works well on my Diamond.

hi no2chem thanks for that work.
I tried v1.2 on Touch HD. It doesn't work. The clock always stays at 528 mHz no matter what U set in profile or manual. So something seems to be broken there?
I installed v1 and it does slow the CPU to the set value.

But I saw that current utilization to actually increase with 81.92 MHz vs 528 mHz rather than decreasing. If we see the CPU utilisation the excess utilisation seems to come from ctpnl.exe.. This seems to be confirmed by excessive rather than decreased battery drain with underclocking.

Is it that nuedynamicclock is repeatedly setting the clock speed on one hand and the system is reverting back and this tug of war causes CPU utilization?

EDIT: BTW if it can help u debugging, it is the nueDynamicClock.dll in v1.2 as well as v1.1 which is causing it to not work on BlackStone, replacing with v1 dll will make it work atleast in manual mode. So some change in nueDynamicClock.dll in 1.1 and 1.2 has made it non working.

Thanks again

Nochem, this is an amazing software app.  I installed it on a buddies phone and he can go all day and still be at 60% when he used to need a charge afternoon.  Thank you very much.

Tp

P.S. Can you install this on a 6.5 rom?  I didn't see any info on that.

I have noticed that since installing nueDynamicClock on my HTC Titan, Quickmenu seems to be closing randomly. Seems to be when the backlight shuts off, when I have the frequency decrease to 96.00mHz

I've noticed that with wisbar advance 3.4c running you can neither install nueDynamicClock or once its installed (by exiting wisbar) get into the settings. I've posted on their site too in case its something they need to fix.
