nueDynamicClock 1.3

by no2chem 9. May 2009 22:13

Ok, I think I finally was able to trace how to prevent the display corruption problem from occurring in nueDynamicClock, and have updated nueDynamicClock to version 1.3. Some of the key fixes are stability improvements and (much) faster switching of clock speed, as well as fixed compatibility with some devices.

Great update, now the program works perfectly! Can i suggest a feature? I think that the idle clock speed should not depend only on time, but also on cpu load. It would be nice to engage only if the cpu load is below a threshold that we would select.

Just to second what steveman had to say, I think it'd be an excellent addition to have the clock speed based upon CPU usage as well. I remember my Dell Axim X51v days when the integrated XScale processor settings included an "Auto" clock speed, which would scale from 104->208->416->624MHz, based upon CPU usage alone.

Anyways, great release, and keep up the good work! We all appreciate your brilliance in coding these apps.

Yay, it works with wisbar advance now as well.  This release so far has fixed all the issues I had with it including the display corruption.  Admittedly its a bit early to tell as the display corruption was random but so far so good.

nueDynamicClock 1.3 is almost perfect. But I have a problem. Is it possible to add programs to the list of exceptions? When I listen to music and turn off the screen, the sound starts to stutter because I have set the CPU downlocking on backlight off and on suspend..
Sorry for my English but I use Google translator;)

The software does not seem to limit the frequency stability at 384MHz.
When I open a second time,The CPU frequency has been restored to 528MHz.

When i hit "save" i get the following error:

A Problem has occurred with services.exe.

EOF

The files it wants to upload are Error Report and cedvice.log

The ER has event type, app name (services.exe), app ver, mod name (nueDymanicClock.d) and a bunch of 0x00000xxx entries.

Unfortunatly, version 1.3 causes HTS HD to boot more then 2 minutes, while normally it takes less then 1 minute. Because I have configured on my device "turn off device if not used for" 1 min, if booting procedure longer then 1 min, my device goes to suspend without having completly booted. It's very uncomfortable in many cases (e.g. it prevents automatic backups which need automatic rebooting of device).

On my device nueDynamicClock setting "Does not control processor speed..." doesn't work - it doesn't influence on bootinfg time at all Frown

I returned to version 1.0. It doesn't have "booting time" issue.

My device: HTC HD (HTC T8282), ROM version 1.56.405.1 WWE

For some reason, I can't get the service to start on all versions. When starting the control panel, it shows a bunch of box characters under active profile. When I try to start it manually with DotFred's task manager, it says file not found. What dependencies does this need to run?
